hi everybody ..befor 1week i was in avisit 2 the maternal child clinic as part of our visits in community month so dr ask me t chose mam 2 ask her some qustions
so i pick one.. that looks young about 24 and i start asking her so i know that this baby is her first and when i asked her 2 tell me about the baby when he started holding his head and when he started walking or even siting she answer me smiling "i dont remeber" so i shift to the other part of questions & i started asking her about if she breastfed her baby &4 how long ? then she repeat that smile that made me nervous said "4 a week " ... i got shocked & i said"just a week "is the baby sick when he was born she said "no i dont like the idea" so i asked her as written in my book did ur dr tell u about the benift she said "yes .." then i stopped at that level & asked her about her level of education even no one need 2 go to school2 know these things she said that shes graduated from hight level institute ...then i left her bcuze my time s up .......what a bad situation we are in ? what such mothers we' ve? i dont know what happend to the libyan mum.. where's our grands.. who knows every thing about thier children ..why today 's mams not like them ..is it education ..is it media where we live ..is it poverty ..nothing s as worse as it was..then what happend ??i could'nt belive what im hear ...

Wow ... Are you sure she was the mother? not a crazy lady who has escaped from an institute? anyway, I agree with Nasimlibya as education and knowledge are separate, especially back home and it is a sad affair

Putting Education aside, I would have thought a mother will have some maternal instincts that "she need to care for her child" as for god's sake even animals have that instinct!!!!

Thanks for this post :) and take care

That is odd...in Libya women breastfeed openly (behind closed doors (of course!!) at gatherings and weddings etc) and in England (they were going to make it illegal to breastfeed babies in public...I'm not sure what the outcome of that was!!). The majority of people know the benefits of breastfeeding. For a woman to say she stopped breastfeeding her baby after a week because she doesn't like the idea of it...is a weird thing to hear...if she's managed a week why not carry on for another few weeks and just deal with. At the end of the day her baby's welfare should be more important than hers!!?There is an alternative where the baby can still get the mothers milk but she doesn't have to breastfeed him directly!!

salam sis
well i can not say any more most ladies have said what they think. but do we have a kind of ways to teach new mothers the best way to breast feed their new born babeis? or just the blind leading the blind, i agree breast feeding is the most best thing to cherish .as kids grow close to their mothers ,and so healthy to
